Prior to my appointment on Thursday, September 21, I was feeling very scared for my son Alex. I haven’t had the best experiences over the past 9 weeks with doctors. I had heard from two of your past patients that we were going to love coming to your office and that we could trust what you would tell us about our son. From the moment I stepped foot in your office, I knew that we were in a great place. We were greeted by a kind staff, who made an attempt to smile and say “Hello” to us, even though they were all very busy working. The nurse, Mary, introduced herself not only to myself but also to my son. Mary was so great with Alex and I could tell that she helped put Alex at ease. When you walked in the door you sat down and really listened to my concerns. You were honest and sincere. All too often if feels like a doctor has one foot out the door and acts as if they don’t have enough time to deal with your questions or concerns. I can’t tell you how wonderful it felt to be at your office because you immediately put my mind at ease. I feel confident that Alex is receiving the best possible health care and for this, I am thankful that we found you. On your web site you state that “Quality Matters” and that you treat EVERY patient the way you would want to be treated. Thank you for putting your words into action. My son Nick had struggled with atopic dermatitis for 2 years. The treatment “ladder” program with light treatments Dr. Crutchfield recommended for him was just amazing. Hello Dr. Crutchfield!
My name is Sara and I have battled moderate to severe Plaque Psoriasis for nearly five years. What started as one small skin irritation on my right leg eventually consumed my body. In a matter of months my arms, legs, ears, hands, feet and head were covered with painful, swollen, flaking lesions that were attacking my body and tearing away at my self esteem. Often covered from head to toe (even in the summer) in long sleeves and pants I was extremely embarrassed, constantly looking at where I stood, sat or slept for evidence that I had been there. I would often have to vacuum bed sheets, carpet and chairs because of the skin that was literally falling off my body.
On December 20, 2006 as I visited with Dr. Crutchfield I cried! Not tears of pain, but tears of happiness and having my life back. After only a month of treatment, all that remains of my psoriasis is some slight skin discoloration which will eventually be corrected with phototherapy. Three weeks ago I was actually able to shave my legs for the first time since the summer! I saw dramatic results within the first week of treatment and I literally felt better overnight! I cannot say enough about the wonderful way I was treated and cared for by Dr. Crutchfield and his staff of wonderful nurses!! Dr. Crutchfield listened to me, cared about my story and helped me get my self-esteem, my life and (MY SKIN) back!

| Dear Dr. Crutchfield and Staff,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help you have given me in controlling my Psoriasis! My condition has been under control for the first time in my life since I came to Minnesota to see you, and to get your advice and help.
My Psoriasis had started 40 years before, and I had exhausted the roll of Dermatologists out here in California, while hearing the same old story from each of them time and again. Every doctor here told me it was “incurable” and then proceeded to give me the same tired old advice and treatments I had tried before and with no success. I finally settled for a lifetime of wearing long sleeves and long pants during the summer months in my attempts to cover my condition, unless I was with friends or family who accepted my appearance without question. It was always embarrassing however to be asked by strangers who spotted a patch of Psoriasis whether I had fallen down and hurt myself, so I usually lied to them and said yes.
My wife’s cousin had moved to Eagan from Hawaii years before, and part of his decision to do so was due to his own case of Psoriasis. In Hawaii one is almost forced to wear shorts and T-shirts and he too was tired of embarrassing questions. Eventually he was referred to your office for treatment, and the results were so incredible that he called me here in California and offered to fly me out to see you! My wife and I waited until we had free time and had made the decision to make the 4,000 mile round trip to Eagan in our car!
Thank God for that decision, and that long drive, because I had the privilege of spending time in your office and of benefiting from your effective advice and treatment. I was favorable impressed by the friendly and professional way I was treated the moment I walked through the door of your building, and two years later I am happy to report that my condition is still under control, and that I proudly wear my beloved short sleeved shirts and shorts here in the California sunshine! You listened to my questions with patience and caring and you gave answers were new and refreshing and that finally caused me to be optimistic about my condition. For the first time I walked away from an appointment with a Dermatologist with hope and a smile on my face, because after 40 years of searching I had finally found a doctor who didn’t listen to those who had given up long ago, and who went further than anyone else in his search for a cure for this terrible disease!
There is still no cure, but by following your advice and faithfully applying my medications I am 95% symptom free, and my life has been much happier because of it. I have given personal testimonies to others I spot with Psoriasis, and have referred them to your office for treatment, regardless of where they may live. I hope they took my advice to heart and found you.
This is the only way I know of thanking you. You have truly done your part to create a happier and better world. Thank you so very much and please keep up your search for a final cure. If anyone can find it----it is you!

Dr. Crutchfield,
On behalf of the Minority Student’s Pre-Health Coalition (MSPC), I wanted to express our sincerest appreciation for the opportunity to attend the University of Minnesota’s Pre-Medical Forum. This program was one of a kind, and it truly left an impact on many of us pre-medical students. We were granted the opportunity to meet with current medical students, doctors, and admissions counselors. We were allowed to shadow in an anatomy lab, learn about infectious disease, as well as given important advice about the medical school application. We were encouraged to think about medicine not only from a scientific perspective, but also with the patient in mind through a discussion based on the play, “Ms. Evers’ Boys.” We had the opportunity to have lunch with student representatives from different medical schools in the Midwest region, and learn more about student life than what a pamphlet can offer. It was overall a wonderful experience and it definitely opened my eyes to what contributions I can offer to the medical field. After the conference, our organization’s participation numbers definitely increased. I believe that the University of Minnesota’s “Heart of Medicine” conference gave many of our underclassmen members a great insight into the medical world. Thank you for all of your support.

of my sophomore year; the presentations introduced

chance to be exposed to many opportunities that

important and even though I no longer desire to
attend medical school, I have been exposed to

Dr. Crutchfield,
I would like to thank you for funding our trip
to the Heart of Medicine Conference at the University
of Minnesota this past January. The conference
was beneficial for me in numerous ways, but I
believe that the most impacting aspects involved
learning about the health world outside the realm
of medicine. Initially, I had the presumption
that a person had to do either research or clinical
work, and that both must be rooted in the scientific
aspects of medicine. At the conference, I met
a number of medical professionals that did both
research and clinical work, such as an infectious
disease physician, primarily working with malaria,
who did research on AIDS in African American women.
She had described her research as combining medicine
with social and racial dimensions, which I found
to be fascinating. One of my primary worries was
that in having a medical career, I would be obligated
to focus purely on the medicine. However, after
the conference, I now know that I can incorporate
other disciplines, such as psychology and sociology,
into my work while still being an active physician.
As such, I feel as though now I have a greater
perspective into my future aspirations, and I
have you to thank for that. Once again, I appreciate
contributions, Dr. Crutchfield, and without your
help, I might not have had such an impacting experience.

I would just like to thank you for giving us the
opportunity to attend such a valuable and educational
conference. As pre-med students who are constantly
taking very intensive classes, we sometimes loose
track of our dreams and goals in medicine. Conferences
refresh us and motivate us to continue to fight
through. They remind us why we chose medicine
and how incredible our lives will be as doctors.
This conference stood out to me particularly because
I had the opportunity to talk with a Ghanaian
Pediatrician who is specializing in Infectious
Diseases. I talked with her about her plans to
open up a clinic in Ghana and shared with her
my dreams of opening up an orphanage in Zambia
one day and changing the condition of public hospitals
in Zambia. She gave me advise for how to go about
making my dream a reality and provided me with
ways I could keep my self motivated and focused,
and away from all of the commotion that comes
with stress. I felt and I am still feeling the
impact of her words. I accredit you for giving
me this wonderful opportunity and powerful experience.
You have helped shape my future and solidify my
dreams.

I would like to take this time to thank you for
your support in my attendance of the University
of Minnesota Pre-Medical Conference. This conference
provided me with insight into the medical field
and the pre-med track. I attended various informational
sessions that highlighted the medical school application
process and other factors involved in such a process.
I also attended interactive sessions that offered
a glimpse into specific fields of medicine such
as Radiology, Cardiology and many others. This
was quite an enriching experience and has added
to my excitement about my future medical career.

Dr. Crutchfield,
I am writing this letter to show my appreciation
and gratification for your generosity. I have
been an active member of Minority Students Pre-Health
Coalition going on three years now and I am always
looking for new opportunities to expand my knowledge
in the medical field. When I learned about the
wonderful conference being held at the University
of Minnesota, I knew I wanted to attend. Due to
personal financial constraints among the least,
I would not have been able to attend the conference.
As the past year's secretary of MSPC, I was one
of the first members to hear of your acceptance
to fund this conference and I was ecstatic. This
conference was very helpful to my future endeavors
in medicine and I am so thankful that I was able
to attend. Among all of the things I could say
to show my appreciation, the most important, as
well as cliché, would be THANKS. I, along
with the rest of the members of MSPC, truly appreciate
your donation and I look forward to meeting you
in the future.

Dr. Crutchfield and Deanna were terrific.........
I was a bit anxious about the full-body skin exam
but she alleviated my anxiety by explaining the
exact procededure the doctor would follow. Upon
examination, Dr. Crutchfield determined that two
lesions on my back should be removed for biopsy.
Deanna gently adminstered the anesthesia and Dr.
Crutchfield assured me removal would be painless.........and
it was! They both maintained a professional, personable
demeanor and never seemed to be in a rush. Deanna
took the time to give me thorough instructions
regarding the post-op care I needed to follow,
and supplied me with informational pamphlets regarding
a variety of skin conditions to watch for. She
wrote her name and phone number down for me in
case I needed to contact her if any questions
or concerns arose regarding my surgery. I am impressed
and grateful for the care I received during my
visit, and I will enthusiastically recommend Dr.
Crutchfield and his staff to my relatives, friends,
and co-workers for their dermatological concerns,
secure in the knowledge that they will receive
the same individual attention and quality of care.

Patrick’s father called and wanted to thank you for all of you help with treating his son’s acne. He had completed an acne medication program recommended by Dr. Crutchfield including Aramis laser therapy for acne. Patrick is now off to college for his first year and is so happy he is starting college acne free. The father also stated that the positive experience he ahd at Crutchfield Dermtology has inspired him to become a Dermatologist some day.

Dear Dr. Crutchfield,
For the last thirty years, I have seen numerous dermatologists who have recommended a plethora of treatments and procedures in hopes of conquering my complexion problems – all to no avail.
In June of 2007, I stepped into your office. I was inspired by your professionalism and obvious expertise, and impressed by your genuine care and concern.
Per your recommended plan, I set up eight sessions of Aramis treatments along with using a prescribed topical and oral antibiotic. Although my insurance would not cover the Aramis, you accommodated me in offering a nice discount. For that I’m grateful!
During my office visits I browsed through your brochures. The Botox information piqued my interest. After struggling with acne for so many years, I now had wrinkles to deal with too! I decided to give it a try!
After the Botox injection in my forehead, I’m hooked! You have an uncanny talent that is a form of artistry and expertise. No droopy eyes to replace forehead wrinkles. Instead I am refreshed, look relaxed and feel as if I’ve had a mini forehead lift which also “opens” my eyes! Thank you!!!
During my one-month follow up for the Botox, I inquired about Restylane for reducing the appearance of lines around my mouth. After your encouraging words, again I decided – why not?! You were kind enough to fit me into your schedule then and there. In fact, I believe you stayed after hours to accommodate me once again. Unfortunately, after two series of pokes on one side, both you and I agreed that for some reason, it wasn’t taking and swelling was occurring under my left eye. You were kind to use a different “filler” for the other side and decided not charge me. I was speechless! After signing the consent form, I was fully aware there were no guarantees. Your decision in foregoing collection of payment was most unexpected, extremely generous, and spoke much your integrity and ethics! Again, I’m very grateful!
I’m now receiving alpha-hydroxy acid peels with the Neostrata products. I am extremely pleased with the improvement of my skin after only four treatments. Can’t wait to see the full effects after twelve!

It is because of your help and co-operation that our Minnesota Psoriasis Support Group has flourished. We do have one of the largest groups in the country. We are very grateful for all that you have done from the very beginning of our meetings. Dear Dr. Crutchfield,
I am glad I chose your clinic from the many presented on the Internet. Your articles in various magazines and printed information on your website influenced thankfully, my decision. The cost in comparison to liposuction was another deciding factor. There was minimal downtime and I explained my neck being swollen as a bee sting one time and a spider bite at others.
I am so happy with the results because it does not appear that I had anything done and that is a sign of a job well done. I always notice the double-chin effect or swollen neck on people who have had mesotherapy or liposuction and most of those had a defining jaw line, but looked ridiculous because below that line the skin was loose and hanging.
Your staff was at all times kind, considerate and thoughtful. I am grateful for the professionalism at your clinic as well, and most importantly, the final result.

Controlling my underarm seating (hyperhidrosis) has changed my life! I have more confidence at work, volunteer to give more presentations and am much more outgoing.
